Welcome to Church Mouse Forge, a small blacksmith shop located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The forge and this site are run by me, Olof Rolfsson, and my apprentice, Nikolas Klemme.  I am a full-time blacksmith working and living in the Irish Channel in New Orleans, a stone’s throw from the banks of the Mississippi River. This morning in the shop I finally got around to making a new set of #WoodMallet. In the #BlacksmithShop, wood mallets are use for making adjustments to hot steel without marring the surface. This is a very simple design with just an oak dowl set int
